Established in 2021, Sohba Saliha is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit born out of a simple need: a safe, welcoming space for sisters to find genuine friendship and support. Inspired by the Prophet Muhammed’s (peace be upon him) emphasis on surrounding ourselves with good company, we believe nobody should have to navigate life or faith alone.

We are a team of women building for women. We welcome sisters from all walks of life, whether you’re a student, a working professional, deeply rooted in your practice, rediscovering your faith, or simply exploring Islam. From laid-back social meetups and wellness activities to hands-on community service and relatable educational spaces designed to meet you exactly where you are. Always grounded in compassion, mutual support, and core Islamic values, everything we do is about meeting people where they are, without judgment.

Because strong sisters build strong communities, we also work hand-in-hand with local masajid and centers. Through collaborative consulting, relevant educational curricula, and program mentorship, we share tested blueprints to help institutions cultivate sustainable, inclusive, and sister-centric spaces. Together, we are building a supportive sisterhood anchored in kindness, shared purpose, and lifelong companionship.

At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to nurture a sisterhood where every woman feels seen, supported, and at home.

Meet the Team

  • Founder & Executive Director

    Iman founded Sohba Saliha after seeing a real need for women’s programming tailored to young professional Muslimahs. Driven by a deep passion for serving others, she dedicates her energy to creating opportunities that uplift the community while fostering connections that fill this gap. Her goal is to help young women embrace the prophetic teaching of surrounding oneself with righteous friendships. Iman holds a Masters of Science in Data Sciences and Analytics from Georgia State University and is currently advancing her Islamic studies through the Year of Knowledge program at the Jannah Institute. Outside of her work and studies, she enjoys painting and spending time with her husband, daughter, and son.

  • Secretary

    Fatima Farooqi is a dedicated Quran teacher, specializing in the reading and memorization of the Quran. She teaches both young students and adults across various masajid in Atlanta. Currently, she is furthering her knowledge by pursuing higher education in Islamic Studies through International Open University (IOU) and delving into Tafseer Studies at Al-Salam Institute (ASI). Fatima is deeply passionate about empowering and inspiring Muslim women in their journey of understanding and practicing their Deen.

  • Administration & Operations

    Layla previously served as the Secretary for Sohba Saliha and continues to support the team’s organizational and logistics efforts. Having grown up in the Atlanta community, she is driven by a long-standing passion for service and bringing people together. Professionally, she is a Consultant who holds a B.S. from Georgia Tech and an M.S. from MIT in Chemical Engineering. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, baking, and writing.

  • Marketing & Social Media Director

    Lynn has always been passionate about community involvement and loves finding ways to uplift those around her. With a background in Film and Television and a minor in Business from the Savannah College of Art and Design, she brings a unique blend of creativity and strategic thinking to her role. She's currently expanding her skills by pursuing an MBA with a focus in digital marketing at Kennesaw State University. Lynn enjoys photography, filmmaking, writing, and editing, and she’s excited to use these talents to create engaging content and build strong connections within the community.

  • Creative & Art Director

    Esra Sharif is a Libyan American textile artist with a BFA in Textiles and Surface Design. Her practice draws from heritage, faith, and womanhood, using fiber as a way to tell stories and preserve memory. As part of the Sohba Saliha team, Esra is dedicated to fostering meaningful dialogue and creating spaces where Muslim women feel seen, supported, and connected.

    With a BA in Communications from Georgia State University, Houda uses her academic experience to craft programs that are both engaging and relevant. Outside of her role, she enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family.
